Yale’s Nails…Looking forward to New Year Challenges!

All ready for the New Year, Yale College NVQ Level 3 Nail learners have demonstrated advanced artistry skills in a competition judged by industry professionals in readiness for future skills challenges.

The creative budding nail specialists from Yale College were given just three and a half hours to create a fantasy nail art design on a model of their choice. Guided by former fashion student, Lauren Raybould they developed mood boards to reflect their interpretation of the theme set to meet the brief of the in-house competition.

The group have progressively worked on refining and building their skills in preparation for the competition with the goal of being chosen to represent Yale at next year’s UK Skills challenges.

“The results were really imaginative,” commented judges – Industry Technician Lucy Ward and CND Education Ambassador, Kelly Winterburn, who were clearly impressed with the standards and quality of all entrants.

Three clear winners emerged in first place: Rachael Hughes with “Ice Queen”; second place: Clare Owens with “Fairy-Tale Wedding”; and in third place: Sioned Davies with “Supernatural”.

The competition was sponsored by Sweet Squared, the UK’s sole distributor of CND nail products. Yale College is their first partnership college in Wales, enabling Yale students to train with some of the best products and equipment on the market
